Vancouver’s German Christmas Market
While taking in the festivities offered during the Grey Cup, I was elated to find out that Vancouver's German Christmas Market was open for business just steps away from the stadium. I was amazed to find authentic Eastern European goods with vendors who were truly German, Austrian, Ukrainian, etc. For a little while, in the Vancouver rain, I was able to pretend that I was attending the markets of my travel dreams. Even though I am Canadian and we are slightly offset from our American counterparts when it comes to Thanksgiving, and usually holidays in general, the Macy's Day Parade is certainly what kicks off the holiday season for my family. We set up the tree, I indulge much more often and bake as much as possible.I am now allowed to watch Love Actually and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation once a week (as opposed to not watching it the rest of the year so I try to get my fix).
