Okanagan Wine
The Dîner en Blanc is a to-do in the Okanagan or any city for that matter. If you haven’t registered for this coveted event held each July in the Okanagan then hopefully someone you know is attending. Additionally, that someone would have to sponsor you so that you get a bit of a leg up in the registration process. I dream of attending the Dîner en Blanc in Paris, its originating city, one day but until then I am happy to attend any of the events here in British Columbia. Search the Dîner en Blanc website to see if there’s an event in your city.
The Okanagan is a gorgeous location to host over 1000 guests all wearing white in some mysterious location of the region which isn’t revealed until you’ve boarded the bus.
Dîner en Blanc takes some planning if you’re going to be bringing your own meal. If you really want to compete you can decorate your table with the required white linen, your nicest china, meticulously packed and plated cuisine to suit your outfit. If that sounds like too much work you can get away with bringing the required 1 table, chairs and table linen with the option to pick up a pre-ordered picnic basket from one of the vendors. Wine is available for purchase as you register online. They try to limit it to 1 bottle per couple with the occasional option to purchase 1 mini bottle after your dinner at the event.
You can read my experience here.
Feel free to send a message if you want to chat about the Okanagan, wine, travel or how much we mutually love cheese!
