Feast of Fields: A Roaming Feast in the Okanagan
Feast of Fields is a roaming feast put on by FarmFolk CityFolk in the Okanagan, Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island.
Each August an Okanagan farm plays host to food vendors, wineries, breweries and local foodies looking to taste the best of the Okanagan food scene. The event, being held at a different working farm annually in August, makes the connection between farm to table and all the chefs, vintners, hops growers and more that are an integral part of the process.
It is a great learning experience if you’re looking to bring your kids but it is also a great time for friends and family to sip and savour the Okanagan chefs and producers.
Bring a picnic blanket, chairs and water to fully enjoy the event with all ages in attendance. This is usually a very hot time of the year so beware and wear sunscreen, hats, etc.
“Funds raised from these events support FarmFolk CityFolk’s work to cultivate local, sustainable food systems across British Columbia. I’ve had the pleasure to experience Feast of Fields yearly but wrote about it during 2013.
