Okanagan Wine
During a Pinot-coloured Okanagan sunset a semi-wild peacock coos into the dry night heat, a pack of coyote pups respond in twilight. The soft waves of Okanagan Lake arrive at the beach as tenderly as a mother bathing her child. Lilacs and damp grass pepper the newly born summer air as you sit upon an old creaking porch with a glass of local Rosé. With each sip crickets sing the same old song that played when the Naramata Heritage Inn was newly built in 1908 by the founder of Naramata J.M.Robinson.
After a day of wine tastings, hiking, mountain biking or any water sport really, I cannot think of a better place to get away from it all than in the small town of Naramata. The Heritage Inn & Spa is especially ideal as it transcends time with it’s heritage rooms, classic patio (what once was called the Cobblestone Wine Bar is now Ambrosia) ideal for sipping whatever your brew and the calming quiet that makes this place speak to one’s soul.
With only 12 boutique rooms each with their own character, claw foot tub and semi-private patios, this is the historic mansion to come when in need of some rest and relaxation. Wether you’re a yogi in hopes of scoring a tan during practice upon their huge lawn, a bocce ball enthusiast, a picnic connoisseur, a nature know-all, an outdoor adventurer or you just want to relax after a day of wine tasting by drinking some bubbly in the sunshine you may find your own paradise at the Naramata Heritage Inn & Spa.
Feel free to send a message if you want to chat about the Okanagan, wine, travel or how much we mutually love cheese!
