I’ve lived all over British Columbia. I was born in Merritt, lived in Prince George, then moved down south in the Kootenays along the border and now I find my home in the central Okanagan Valley. As much as I have traveled in British Columbia (always by car) it was all when I was a kid in Northern BC as my family would zigzag the terrain from city to small town in any season.
Last week Tourism PG gave me the opportunity to rediscover my old home town from 14 years ago. All at once it was nostalgic, untouched and yet changed. The city of Prince George has stayed the same in that it is entwined with nature and forest – I remember a moose running down my neighbourhood or a black bear strolling down a mountain while we were hiking up it.
But it has also grown: more fine dinning restaurants, arts, culture and activities than ever before.
Here are a few of my postcards from Prince George – you can see more by following #TakeOnPG on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
